DealDan ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the DealDan mobile application and website (collectively, the "Platform"). Please read this policy carefully. If you do not agree with its terms, please discontinue use of the Platform.
01. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly to us and information collected automatically when you use the Platform:
Account Information
When you register, we collect your name, username, email address, phone number, profile photo, bio, and account type (regular user or business owner). For business accounts, we may also collect business name and category.
Content You Post
Videos, images, stories, descriptions, and audio you upload to the Platform, including deal offers and AI-generated voice content created using our ElevenLabs-powered AI Studio feature.
Location Data
With your permission, we collect your precise or approximate location to show you nearby deals and to tag your posts with a location. You can disable location access through your device settings, though this will limit location-based features.
Usage & Device Data
Device type, operating system, app version, IP address, language settings, time zone, pages visited, content viewed, interactions (likes, comments, saves), and session duration.
Payment & Coins Data
When you purchase Coins through Google Play, Apple App Store, or our web payment gateway (Paymennt), payment processing is handled entirely by those third-party providers. We do not store your full card details. We do store your coin balance, transaction history, and purchase records.
Interests & Preferences
The interest categories you select during onboarding (e.g., food, beauty, fitness, services) used to personalize your deal feed.
02. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- • Create and manage your account and authenticate your identity
- • Deliver a personalized feed of local business deals matched to your selected interests and location
- • Enable business owners to publish short video offers and reach nearby users
- • Process coin purchases and manage your in-app wallet balance
- • Power AI voice features (text-to-speech and speech-to-speech) via ElevenLabs
- • Send push notifications about relevant deals, activity, and platform updates
- • Moderate content and enforce our community guidelines
- • Analyze usage patterns to improve platform performance and features
- • Comply with legal obligations and resolve disputes
- • Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security incidents
03. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal data. We may share your information in the following circumstances:
Public Profile & Content
Your username, profile photo, bio, and posted deal videos are visible to other users of the Platform by default. Business deal posts are shown to nearby users matching your selected category.
Service Providers
We share data with trusted third-party providers who assist us in operating the Platform, including hosting (Ubuntu VPS), cloud infrastructure, push notification delivery (Firebase FCM), and content moderation (SightEngine).
Legal Requirements
We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or governmental authority, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of DealDan, our users, or the public.
Business Transfers
If DealDan is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your data may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your data is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
04. Location-Based Features
DealDan's core functionality is location-based. When you enable location access, we use your coordinates to show you deals from nearby businesses and to display your posts to users in your vicinity. Location data is used in real time and is not sold to advertisers. Business owners' general location (city/area) may be visible on their deal posts. You can revoke location permission at any time in your device settings, which will disable location-based filtering.
05. AI Features & Voice Data
DealDan's AI Studio allows business owners to generate voice-overs for their deal videos using text-to-speech and speech-to-speech technology powered by ElevenLabs. When you use these features, your text input or recorded voice audio is transmitted to ElevenLabs for processing. The resulting audio is stored on our servers at admin.dealdan.com/storage. ElevenLabs processes this data in accordance with their own privacy policy. We do not use your voice data to build biometric profiles or for any purpose beyond generating the requested audio content.
06. Coins & In-App Purchases
DealDan uses an in-app Coins system. Coins can be purchased through Google Play (processed by Google), Apple App Store (processed by Apple), or via our web-based payment gateway Paymennt.com for UAE users. All financial transactions are processed by these third-party payment providers. We store your coin balance and transaction history but do not have access to your full payment card details. Coins are non-refundable unless required by applicable law. Coins have no cash value and cannot be withdrawn.
07. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored on our secured Ubuntu VPS server. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction, including SSL/TLS encryption for all data in transit and restricted access controls for our server infrastructure. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

09. Your Rights & Choices
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- • Access — Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- • Correction — Update or correct inaccurate information via your profile settings
- • Deletion — Request deletion of your account and associated data. You can do this through the app settings or by contacting us
- • Portability — Request your data in a portable format
- • Objection — Object to certain types of processing, including location-based content delivery
- • Notification controls — Manage push notification preferences in app settings at any time

10. Children's Privacy
DealDan is not intended for users under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If we become aware that a child under 18 has provided us with personal data, we will take steps to delete such information. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us at privacy@dealdan.com.
11. Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. Stories are automatically deleted after 24 hours. Old notifications are periodically cleared by automated processes. When you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by applicable law or for legitimate business purposes such as fraud prevention.
12. International Data Transfers
DealDan is operated from the UAE. Your data may be processed by our third-party service providers in other countries including the United States. By using the Platform, you consent to the transfer of your information to countries that may have different data protection laws than your country of residence.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal, operational, or regulatory reasons. We will notify you of significant changes via in-app notification or email. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent revision. Your continued use of DealDan after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
